Aya Farms is a community-centered agricultural initiative committed to cultivating a sustainable and resilient local food system in Metro Atlanta. Located in South DeKalb—an area with a critical need for food security—Aya Farms provides fresh, organically grown produce while serving as a hands-on learning space for sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment.
Through education, collaboration, and responsible farming practices, Aya Farms works to ensure that healthy food is accessible, local agriculture is viable, and families are equipped with the tools to grow food and economic opportunity—even with limited land.
Aya Farms cultivates sustainable agriculture while alleviating food insecurity through fresh, locally grown produce, community donations, and education. We empower individuals of all ages with the knowledge and skills to grow their own food, make healthy choices, and care for the environment through hands-on learning and community engagement.
Aya Farms envisions becoming a hub for sustainable agriculture in Metro Atlanta—modeling community-driven food systems and collaborative agro-economic success. Our goal is to inspire a thriving, self-sustaining community where healthy food is accessible to all, local farming is economically viable, and future generations are empowered to grow a more sustainable world.
Aya Farms prioritizes sustainable, organic, and eco-friendly growing practices, including:
We are actively working to expand sustainability infrastructure, including drip irrigation systems to further reduce water usage.
Aya Farms produces a diverse range of fresh fruits and vegetables, including collard greens, mustard greens, kale, broccoli, cabbage, ginger, garlic, green onions, carrots, peppers (sweet and hot), cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, peas, and watermelon.
Historically maintained by family and friends, Aya Farms is supported by dedicated farmers, volunteers, and community partners. As the farm grows, our goal is to expand capacity and create paid roles to support long-term sustainability.
We collaborate with several Metro Atlanta farms and agricultural organizations, including Habesha, Shamba, Iremide Farms, Nature’s Candy Farms, Gangsters to Growers, and Atlanta Harvest—working collectively to strengthen the local food ecosystem.
